Hotmail offer free 5GB email storage

Hotmail is planning to offer 5GB of free email storage which is more than double what Google's Gmail offer. Another big change in Hotmail will be to turn off the news and other bogus stuff on main page. Hotmail will also offer 10GB additional space with $14.99 yearly subscription.

According to hotmail's official blog  following major changes are going to happen in Hotmail:

1. Performance: Hotmail will be very fast. It will load very quickly.

2. Quality of Service: Hotmail will be reliable.

3. More storage: Hotmail will have 5GB free space

4. Automatic Junk Deletion: junk will be deleted after some fixed months.

5.Contact De-Duplication: One contact name can have multiple email addresses like Mr X can have x@gmail.com and x@hotmail.com in address book.

6. You can turn off the Today page

and many more :)

I think this move will make many new fans for Microsoft as Microsoft is offering free space upto 5GB when Google started charging after 2GB.
